The charges on Rupeezy are a mix of three things: Rupeezy's brokerage, government and exchange levies (the same for every broker), and demat / depository charges. You can see a tentative estimate before you place any order using View Charges, and your actual charges in your Dock ledger statement. The exact rates depend on the segment and your plan — see our pricing page.
What are the different charges?
Rupeezy's charge
- Brokerage — the fee Rupeezy charges for executing your buy or sell order. It varies by segment (delivery, intraday, futures, options, currency, commodity) and your plan.
Government and exchange charges
These are set by the government, the exchanges and the regulator. They are the same across all brokers — Rupeezy only collects them and passes them on.
- Securities Transaction Tax (STT) / Commodities Transaction Tax (CTT) — a government tax on your transactions. STT applies in the equity markets and CTT in the commodity markets (see the comparison below).
- Exchange Transaction Charges — a fee the exchange (NSE, BSE or MCX) levies for using its trading platform.
- SEBI Charges — a fee the market regulator (SEBI) charges on every buy and sell transaction.
- Clearing Charges — a fee the clearing house charges to settle each trade, which is passed on to you.
- Stamp Duty — a duty levied by your state government on the transaction, charged on the buy side.
- IPFT (Investor Protection Fund Trust) charges — a small exchange levy that goes towards investor protection.
- GST — an 18% government tax, applied on the sum of brokerage, transaction charges and SEBI charges.
STT vs CTT — the two are the same idea applied to different markets:
| STT (equity markets) | CTT (commodity markets) | |
|---|---|---|
| Applies to | Equity shares, equity mutual funds, and equity derivatives (Futures & Options) | Non-agricultural commodity derivatives (e.g. gold, silver, crude oil); agricultural commodities are exempt |
| Who pays | Both buyer and seller on delivery; only the seller on intraday and F&O | Only the seller |
| Why it exists | Curbs tax evasion in the capital markets and helps track capital gains | Curbs excessive speculation in the commodity markets, bringing parity with equities |
| Common rates | 0.1% on both sides for delivery; 0.025% sell side for intraday; 0.02% sell side for futures; 0.1% on premium (sell side) for options | 0.01% sell side for non-agri futures; 0.05% sell side for options |

Demat and depository charges
- DP Charges (Depository Participant) — a flat per-scrip charge levied by the depository (CDSL/NSDL) and the broker each time you sell a delivery holding from your demat account. It is a fixed amount per scrip, not a percentage, and it is applied at settlement — so it does not show on the order estimate. DP charges do not apply to mutual fund units held in demat form.
- Demat Maintenance Charge (MMC / AMC) — the charge for maintaining your demat account. It applies to older accounts and is only deducted when your account has a balance. See What are the AMC charges for Demat? and Why was a Demat maintenance charge deducted from my account?.
Product-specific charges
- Pledge / Unpledge charges — per-scrip charges when you pledge shares as collateral for margin (MTF) or under T+5, and when they are unpledged.
- A few situational charges may also apply — such as an auto square-off charge (if the system squares off your intraday position), a Call & Trade charge (placing an order over the phone), and payment-gateway charges on certain deposit methods.
Where can I see my charges?
- Before you trade — tap View Charges on the order window for a tentative estimate of that order. See How to view the charges summary.
- Your actual charges — appear in your ledger statement in Dock and in the contract note emailed to you. See Where can I download my ledger report?.
The order-window figure is only an estimate. Some charges — DP charges and the demat maintenance charge in particular — are applied later, at settlement or end of day, so they may not appear on that estimate.
