The amount is most likely your Demat Monthly Maintenance Charge (MMC) — the charge for maintaining your demat account. It applies only to demat accounts opened before June 15, 2024; accounts opened on or after that date are not charged an MMC. We only deduct it when your account has enough balance, so if it could not be charged earlier, the pending amount is settled the next time funds are available — which is why you may see it come out all at once.
When is the MMC deducted?
We do not push your account into a negative balance for the MMC. It is only charged when there is a sufficient balance in your account. We check for any pending dues at the time of a withdrawal (payout) — so when your payout is processed and a balance is available, any pending MMC is deducted from it first. This is why the charge can appear at the time of a withdrawal, and why more than one pending period can be settled together.
How much is the MMC?
The MMC depends on your account's plan, so it is not a single fixed figure. To see the exact charge that applies to your account, check your plan details or our pricing page. Accounts opened on or after June 15, 2024 are not charged an MMC.
Where can I see this charge?
The charges shown on the order window are only a tentative estimate for that order. Your actual charges, including the MMC, appear in your ledger statement in Dock. See Where can I download my ledger report?.
