Rupeezy needs your explicit authorisation to debit shares from your demat account whenever DDPI (or an older POA) isn't active on it. This email is that authorisation request — it typically comes up when a position needs actual delivery of shares, not a routine sale.
When does this email get sent?
Two situations commonly lead to this:
- A stock F&O position that requires physical delivery. If you hold a stock futures or options position into expiry, it may settle with actual shares changing hands instead of cash. See What is physical settlement in stock F&O?
- An Intraday position that couldn't be squared off, for example because the stock hit its circuit limit and there was no liquidity to close it — the position may need to be settled with delivery instead. See What will happen to my intraday position if the stock circuit limits are hit?
In either case, if DDPI/POA isn't already active, Rupeezy can't debit the shares from your demat on its own — it needs your explicit authorisation first, and this email is how it's requested.
How do I authorise it?
Follow the link or instructions in the email itself — this is a one-off authorisation for that specific delivery, separate from your regular buy/sell flow.
How do I avoid getting this email in future?
Activate DDPI once, and Rupeezy is authorised to debit your demat holdings going forward without needing a separate email each time. See How to activate DDPI (POA) for your demat account? and Why does Rupeezy ask for a DDPI (alternative to POA) for the demat account?
Things to keep in mind
- This is different from the authorisation needed for a routine share sale (covered in Can I sell pledged securities instantly without placing an unpledge request?) — this email specifically covers a delivery obligation, like F&O physical settlement or an intraday position that couldn't square off.
- Rupeezy's demat accounts are held with NSDL, not CDSL — if you've read about a "CDSL TPIN" for this kind of authorisation elsewhere, that's a different depository's mechanism and doesn't apply here.
