An IPO typically lists on the exchange within 3 working days (T+3) of the issue closing date. In that window, the basis of allotment is finalised, shares are credited to the demat accounts of allottees, and blocked funds are released for anyone who wasn't allotted—so the shares are tradable from the listing day.
What happens between the close and listing?
- Issue closes — bidding ends on the last day of the IPO.
- Allotment finalised — the registrar decides who gets shares (by lottery if the issue is oversubscribed).
- Shares credited / funds released — allottees receive shares in their demat account, and blocked amounts are released for non-allottees.
- Listing day — the shares start trading on the exchange.
Where can I see the listing date?
The IPO's listing date is shown with the issue details in the Rupeezy app. To check whether you were allotted shares, see How do I check my IPO application status?. If you weren't allotted, see When will I get my money back after an IPO?.
