An Intraday position is meant to be closed the same day. If you haven't closed it yourself, Rupeezy squares it off automatically near the end of the trading session — so an Intraday trade is never carried overnight.
When does the auto square-off happen?
Open Intraday positions are squared off towards the end of the trading day, shortly before the market closes, at market price. If you want to control the exit price, close the position yourself before then.
How do I avoid the auto square-off?
You have two options, any time during the day:
- Close it yourself — square off the position manually whenever you like. See How do I square off positions on the Rupeezy app?.
- Keep the stock — convert the Intraday position to Delivery before it's auto squared off, provided you have the full delivery amount for that quantity.
Is there a charge if the system squares off my position?
Yes. If you don't close an Intraday position yourself and the system has to square it off for you at the end of the day, an auto square-off charge applies. You avoid this charge entirely by closing the position yourself before the cut-off. For the current charge, see the Rupeezy pricing page.
Good to know
- The auto square-off is placed at market price, so the exit price depends on where the stock is trading at that moment.
- Profits from Intraday trades are available for withdrawal on T+1 (the next settlement day). See When can I withdraw my profit from intraday trades?.
- A short position that can't be bought back at the close — for example, the stock is at its upper circuit — can become a short delivery that goes to auction.
