A UPI collect or payment request only moves money once you approve it with your UPI PIN — receiving one costs you nothing. If you did not start it yourself on the Add Funds screen in the Rupeezy app, decline it and do not approve.
Does receiving a request move any money on its own?
No. A UPI collect request or payment request only debits your account when you open it and approve the payment with your UPI PIN. Simply receiving one, or letting it expire, does not move any money.
How do I know if a request is genuinely from Rupeezy?
A genuine Rupeezy request only ever follows you tapping Verify & Add on the Add Funds screen yourself, for the amount you just entered. It comes with a payment screen showing a 3-minute countdown and the message "Please approve the payment request before time runs out." If a request shows up without you having just done that, it did not come from your own Add Funds action.
What should I do if I get a request I didn't start?
- Decline it in your UPI app. Do not approve it.
- Never enter your UPI PIN on a request you did not start yourself, even if the name on it looks like Rupeezy — fraudulent collect requests are a known scam pattern, and a display name alone doesn't confirm who sent it.
- If you're unsure whether you triggered it, don't approve first and check later. Close the request, check your own Add Funds activity in the Rupeezy app, and raise a support ticket if anything looks off.
Things to keep in mind
- Rupeezy never needs you to approve a payment request you didn't initiate yourself.
