A Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) works like a mutual fund for real estate — it pools money from investors and invests it in income-generating properties such as office buildings and malls, and you earn returns through dividends and capital appreciation. On Rupeezy, you apply for a REIT IPO the same way as any other IPO, using UPI.
What is a REIT?
A REIT is a trust that owns and operates income-generating real estate — for example, a portfolio of office buildings or malls. When you invest in a REIT's units, you're pooling your money alongside other investors, and the trust passes on the returns it earns from those properties back to you as dividends and capital appreciation, similar to how a mutual fund passes on returns from its underlying holdings.
How do I apply for a REIT IPO on Rupeezy?
REIT IPOs appear in the same IPOs section on Rupeezy as regular company IPOs — there's no separate tag distinguishing a REIT issue from any other IPO. Open Products > IPOs, find the REIT issue under the Active (or Upcoming) tab, and apply exactly the way you would for any other IPO: tap Apply, enter your investor category, price and lot count, and approve the UPI mandate.
See How do I apply for an IPO? for the full step-by-step.
Can I revise my REIT IPO bid?
You can revise a REIT bid upward, but not downward. For example, an application of ₹30,000 can be modified to ₹40,000, but it cannot be reduced to ₹25,000.
Things to keep in mind
- REIT units are usually listed with a much higher minimum investment than a typical mainboard equity IPO — check the Min. Investment figure on the IPO card before applying.
- Modifying, cancelling and checking allotment status otherwise follow the same flow as any other IPO application on Rupeezy, except for the upward-only bid revision above.
