Why is the buy option not available for some SIP or lumpsum investments?

The One-Time and Start SIP buttons on a scheme are switched on or off by the fund house, scheme by scheme. When a fund house has paused fresh investment in a scheme — or when a New Fund Offer's window has closed — Rupeezy greys out that button and shows a short note explaining why. This is set by the fund house, not by Rupeezy, and it varies from fund to fund, so one scheme may accept investments while another does not.

Why is the One-Time or Start SIP button greyed out for a scheme?

Every scheme carries its own rules from the fund house about whether it is currently open for new money. Rupeezy reads those rules for each scheme and enables or disables the buttons accordingly. If the fund house has switched a route off, the button appears greyed out, and tapping it shows the reason instead of starting an order.

Because this is decided per scheme, you can see the buttons available on one fund and unavailable on another at the same time.

What do the messages mean?

When a button is unavailable, the note tells you exactly what is blocked:

  • "One-time investment is blocked by the fund house" — the fund house has paused fresh lump-sum (One-Time) purchases for that scheme. SIP may still be open for the same fund.
  • "All investments are blocked by the fund house" — the fund house has paused both lump-sum and SIP for that scheme, so neither button is available.
  • "The NFO is now closed for new investments." — the scheme is a New Fund Offer whose subscription window has ended. An NFO only accepts money during its offer period; once that closes, it opens for regular buying later.

Is Rupeezy blocking my investment?

No. These restrictions come from the fund house that runs the scheme, not from Rupeezy. A fund house may pause fresh purchases or SIPs in a scheme for its own reasons — for example, to manage the size of the fund — and it can reopen the scheme later. When that happens, the button becomes available again automatically. There is nothing you need to do to unlock it on your side.

What if buy is unavailable for every fund, not just some?

If the One-Time and Start SIP buttons are unavailable on every scheme you open — not just a few — it usually is not the fund house. It generally means your account is still being set up. Mutual fund investing needs your KYC and account activation to be complete first, and until then, tapping Invest shows an account opening in progress message rather than a fund-house note. Once your account is fully activated, the buttons work across schemes as normal.

Things to keep in mind

  • It is set per scheme, by the fund house. The same route can be open on one fund and closed on another. Rupeezy does not choose which schemes are blocked.
  • It can change. A scheme that is paused today may reopen later; the button updates on its own when the fund house allows fresh investment again.
  • A closed NFO is different from a blocked scheme. A closed NFO simply means the offer window is over — the scheme typically opens for regular investment afterwards.
