A Scheme Information Document (SID) is the document a mutual fund's fund house (AMC) publishes for that one scheme, as required by SEBI. It sets out the scheme's investment objective, asset allocation, risk factors, costs and the fund manager running it — everything you'd want to check before you invest. Every scheme has its own SID; an AMC running 40 schemes publishes 40 of them.
What does a Scheme Information Document cover?
- Investment objective and strategy — what the scheme aims to do and how
- Asset allocation pattern — the equity/debt/cash split it's allowed to hold
- Risk factors — scheme-specific risks, plus its riskometer level
- Costs — the expense ratio and any exit load
- Minimum investment — the smallest lumpsum and SIP amount it accepts, and its lock-in period if it has one
- Fund manager — who runs the scheme and their track record
- How to invest and redeem — the process for buying and selling units directly with the AMC
Where can I read a fund's SID?
Every AMC publishes the SID for each of its schemes on its own website — SEBI requires this before a scheme can take money from investors, with no exceptions.
On Rupeezy, open the fund's own page and tap Scheme Information Document under Fund House. This opens the fund house's website outside the app, where the SID is published alongside the scheme's other documents. See How to check mutual fund scheme details on Rupeezy? for the rest of that page.
Things to keep in mind
- The SID is scheme-specific, not AMC-wide. A fund house publishes a separate SID for every scheme it runs.
- The Key Information Memorandum (KIM) is a shorter summary of the SID, usually attached to an application form. Read the SID itself for the full risk and cost picture.
- Rupeezy doesn't host the SID. The in-app link takes you to the fund house's own website, not a Rupeezy page.
