When you log in from a city Rupeezy hasn't seen you use before, it emails you a security notification showing the city the login came from. That city is inferred from your IP address, not your phone's GPS, so it can show a different city than where you actually are.
Why does the city look wrong?
Your internet provider or mobile carrier often routes your connection through a server registered in another city, and the same happens if you're on a VPN. The email reflects that network location, not your physical one — so a mismatch doesn't necessarily mean someone else logged in.
If the login was you — no action needed. This is a routine security notification.
If you don't recognize the login:
- Log out of all devices — go to your Account page and open Manage Logins, select all the active sessions, and log them out.
- Reset your MPIN so the login can't be reused. See How do I reset my MPIN?
Things to keep in mind
- IP-based city detection is approximate — it's normal to occasionally see a nearby or unrelated city even on your own logins.
- If you're worried about unauthorized trades while you sort this out, you can also freeze your trading account temporarily.
- If you keep seeing unrecognized logins after resetting your MPIN, contact Rupeezy support.
