When can I apply for an IPO?

You can apply for an IPO any time between its open date and close date—usually a window of about three days. Within that window, you also need to approve the UPI mandate before the daily cut-off for your application to be processed that day; if you're applying on the last day, make sure to bid and approve the mandate well before the final cut-off.

Key timings

  • Open to close. Bidding is open from the IPO's open date until its close date. You can also set up your bid ahead of time—see How do I pre-apply for an IPO?.
  • Daily UPI mandate cut-off. Approve the UPI mandate before the day's cut-off. Applications where the mandate isn't approved in time lapse—one of the most common reasons an application is rejected. See Why was my IPO application rejected?.
