You can apply to InvIT and REIT public issues on Rupeezy the same way you apply for an IPO—through the IPO section, by bidding in lots and approving a UPI mandate. When one of these issues is open, it appears alongside IPOs in the app.
What are InvITs and REITs?
- InvIT (Infrastructure Investment Trust) — a trust that pools investors' money to own income-generating infrastructure assets (like roads or power lines) and passes on the income.
- REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) — the same idea for income-generating real estate (like office parks).
In both, you buy units (not shares), and the units list and trade on the exchange after the issue, just like a stock.
How to apply
- In the IPO section, open the InvIT or REIT public issue.
- Bid for the number of lots you want and approve the UPI mandate—see How do I apply for an IPO?.
Blocking of funds, allotment, and release if you aren't allotted work the same as an IPO—see When will I get my money back after an IPO?.
