How do I invest in InvIT and REIT public issues?

You can apply to InvIT and REIT public issues on Rupeezy the same way you apply for an IPO—through the IPO section, by bidding in lots and approving a UPI mandate. When one of these issues is open, it appears alongside IPOs in the app.

What are InvITs and REITs?

  • InvIT (Infrastructure Investment Trust) — a trust that pools investors' money to own income-generating infrastructure assets (like roads or power lines) and passes on the income.
  • REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) — the same idea for income-generating real estate (like office parks).

In both, you buy units (not shares), and the units list and trade on the exchange after the issue, just like a stock.

How to apply

  1. In the IPO section, open the InvIT or REIT public issue.
  2. Bid for the number of lots you want and approve the UPI mandate—see How do I apply for an IPO?.

Blocking of funds, allotment, and release if you aren't allotted work the same as an IPO—see When will I get my money back after an IPO?.
