Rupeezy auto squares off open Intraday positions shortly before the market closes. If your position is still open, the most likely reason is that the square-off order itself was rejected when the system tried to place it — the same reasons any order can be rejected apply here too.
What can cause the auto square-off order to fail?
The system places a regular Market order to close your Intraday position, so it can be rejected for the same reasons a manual order would be — for example, the stock is halted or restricted from new positions, it's hit an exchange price band, or there's a connectivity issue between Rupeezy and the exchange at that moment.
What should I do if my position is still open after market close?
Open Positions and square it off manually as soon as you notice it. Since the trade remains open, price movement after the close still affects your P&L, so don't wait for the next auto square-off cycle.
Things to keep in mind
- Auto square-off only applies to Intraday positions — Delivery, MTF, and T+5 positions are meant to be carried forward and are never auto-squared.
- Auto square-off is a safety net, not a guarantee — always square off intraday positions yourself once you're done, rather than relying on it.
