A GTT can leave Active status for a few different reasons — you or Rupeezy cancelled it, its validity window ran out (Expired), or the order it tried to place after triggering failed (Rejected).
Cancelled
You can cancel an Active GTT yourself from the GTT tab at any time. Rupeezy can also cancel a pending GTT automatically when a corporate action (like a split, bonus, or merger) changes the stock's price or quantity basis — since your original trigger no longer makes sense against the adjusted price, it's cancelled and you're notified to place a fresh one if you still want it.
Expired
Every GTT has a validity window — one year by default, or the same trading day for Intraday. If the trigger condition is never met within that window, the GTT expires on its own and no order is placed.
Rejected
This means the trigger did fire, but the order it placed afterward failed — usually insufficient margin, missing DDPI/PoA authorization for an equity sell, or an exchange-side rejection like a circuit lock, checked only at the moment it triggered.
Things to keep in mind
- Each of these is a different status, not interchangeable — check which one your GTT actually shows before assuming why it's gone.
- None of these retry automatically — if you still want the trade, you'll need to place a new GTT.
