Muhurat trading is a short, special live trading session that NSE, BSE and MCX hold every year on Diwali (Laxmi Pujan). In 2026, Muhurat trading is on Sunday, 8 November, with equity trading from 2:20 PM to 3:30 PM. You can trade on Rupeezy during this session just as you would on a normal trading day.
What is Muhurat trading?
"Muhurat" means an auspicious time. Many investors see the Diwali session as a good moment to start the new Samvat (Hindu calendar year), so they place small, symbolic buy orders. The session is short, but it is a fully live market: orders are matched, trades are executed, and every trade is settled like a trade on any other day.
The exchanges announce the date and timings through circulars a few weeks before Diwali. This page is updated each year once they are announced.
