A bank transfer bounces back to your source account when Rupeezy can't match it to your trading account and credit it. The two most common reasons are sending from a bank account that isn't linked to your Rupeezy account, or the account number, IFSC code or beneficiary name not matching your own Bank Transfers screen exactly.
Why does this happen most often?
- The money came from an unlinked bank account. Money must come from a bank account linked to your Rupeezy account, as SEBI regulations require — a transfer from any other account is not credited and is returned to where it came from. See Can I transfer funds from bank accounts that are not linked to my Rupeezy account? for what to do if that's what happened.
- The beneficiary details didn't match. The account number on the Bank Transfers screen is unique to you. If the account number, IFSC code or beneficiary name you sent to was copied from a screenshot, an old message, or doesn't exactly match your own screen, the transfer can be rejected and sent back.
What should I check before sending the money again?
- Confirm you are sending from the bank account linked to your Rupeezy account — check this under Add Funds or on Dock, and link a new account first if you need to send from a different one.
- Open Add Funds → Other Options → Bank Transfers in the app and copy the account number, IFSC code and beneficiary name fresh from there, rather than reusing a saved beneficiary.
What if the refund itself hasn't reached my bank?
The refund is initiated by the banking system, not the Rupeezy app, so how long it takes depends on your bank. If it hasn't shown up after a few working days, check with your bank using the original transfer's reference number before raising a ticket with Rupeezy.
