Why is the average cost for shares allotted in an IPO not displayed?

Rupeezy sets the retail allotment price as the default average cost for shares allotted in an IPO, once they're credited to your demat account — so if your own allotment price is different, the average cost shown on your holding won't match what you actually paid.

Why does my average cost show the retail allotment price?

Rupeezy populates a newly allotted IPO holding's average cost with the issue's retail allotment price by default. If you were allotted at that same price, the figure is already correct. If you applied under a category with a different allotment price, the default value doesn't reflect what you paid.

What if my allotment price was different from the retail price?

Create a ticket with the Rupeezy team and ask them to manually update your holding's average cost to your actual allotment price.

Things to keep in mind

  • This only affects the average cost shown on the holding — it doesn't affect the number of shares allotted to you or your demat credit.
  • Correcting it needs a manual update from the Rupeezy team; it isn't something you can edit yourself on the holding.
