Why do charts of the same stock and timeframe differ across different platforms?

The same stock on the same timeframe can look slightly different on Rupeezy compared with another app — especially on intraday (minute and hourly) charts. It comes down to how tick data works.

How tick data works

The exchange processes hundreds of transactions every second, and each transaction is a tick. A charting platform displays only about one tick per second from those hundreds. Because different platforms capture different tick points, you'll see slight variations in charts — particularly in minute and hourly candles.

Every platform connects to the same exchange feeds (NSE / BSE / MCX), so the difference isn't the data source — it's which tick each platform samples from that stream.

Daily charts stay consistent

Daily charts don't have this problem: the exchange publishes standardised end-of-day OHLC for each stock, so every platform shows the same daily values.

What this means for you

  • It's not an error on either app — the intraday difference comes from tick sampling, not wrong data.
  • For a definitive figure, use the daily chart, built from the exchange's official end-of-day data.
