Why was the account opening application put on hold due to signature mismatch?

Your account opening application is put on hold for a signature mismatch when the signature on your account opening form does not match the signature on your verified records — such as your PAN card or bank records. Rupeezy does this as a mandatory verification step to confirm it is really you opening the account and to protect you against identity misuse. Once you provide a signature that matches your official records, the application resumes.

Why does a signature mismatch put my application on hold?

Your signature is one of the ways your identity is verified during account opening. If the signature you submit looks different from the one already on record with your official documents, it cannot be matched with confidence, so the application is paused rather than rejected.

This check exists to protect you:

  • It helps stop someone else from opening or operating an account in your name.
  • It makes sure the signature on file will match future instructions you sign.

A hold is not the same as a rejection. It means Rupeezy needs one more thing from you before the application can move forward.

How do I resolve a signature mismatch?

To get your application moving again, you need to provide a signature that matches your verified records:

  1. Read the Rupeezy communication. Rupeezy will reach out about the hold — check the message so you know exactly what is needed.
  2. Re-submit a fresh signature. Sign again so that your signature matches the one on your official records (for example, the signature on your PAN card or bank records).
  3. Provide supporting proof if asked. In some cases you may be asked to submit a supporting document that carries your verified signature.
  4. Respond to Rupeezy. Send the re-submitted signature or proof back through the channel Rupeezy asked you to use.

Once Rupeezy receives a signature that matches your records, the hold is cleared and your application continues through the remaining steps.

How do I keep track of my application after re-submitting?

After you re-submit, you can follow where your application stands. See How to check Account Opening Status? to track whether the hold has been cleared and what step is next.

Important: Provide a signature that genuinely matches your official records rather than a new or altered one — a mismatch will only pause the application again. If you are unsure which signature is on record, contact Rupeezy support before you re-submit.
